Clinical Supervision

What We Cover —

Case conceptualization and treatment planning, so you feel confident in your clinical decisions and can articulate your reasoning.

Ethical and legal guidance, so you can navigate complex situations with clarity rather than anxiety.

Therapeutic skill development, from building rapport to advanced clinical interventions across modalities.

Countertransference and self of the therapist work, because what you bring into the room matters as much as what your client does.

Private practice foundations, for those who want to build their own practice and need a supervisor who has actually done it.

Who I Work With —

I work best with associates who are self-starters. People who are curious, willing to do the unglamorous work consistently, and serious about building something of their own. Private practice is entrepreneurial by nature, and the mindset you bring matters as much as your clinical skills. You do not need to have it figured out. You do need to be willing to show up and trust the process even when the outcome is not yet clear.

I have particular depth working with therapists who serve queer populations, clients navigating identity and life transitions, and those interested in somatic, attachment-based, or IFS-informed approaches.

I also contract with organizations to provide supervision for their clinical staff. If you are a group practice, agency, or treatment center looking for consistent external supervision, I am available for contract work and welcome those conversations.

Getting licensed is the goal. But the therapist you become along the way matters more than the credential at the end.

I have been supervising associate therapists since 2020. Before that, I spent years figuring out how to build a practice I actually wanted, in a field that does not teach you how to do that. What I learned, I teach.

To get started, reach out with a brief note about where you are in your licensure process and what you are looking for in a supervisor.

What I Offer —

I provide individual clinical supervision for associate-level therapists working toward licensure in California. My supervision is clinical first. We look at your cases, your interventions, your instincts, and where you are getting stuck. We also look at you, your reactions, your patterns, your countertransference, and how all of that is showing up in the room.

I also care about the business side of this work, because being a therapist in private practice means being a business owner, and most graduate programs do not prepare you for that. If you want to build a private practice, I can help you think through what that actually takes.

What supervision with me is not: a rubber stamp on your hours. If you are looking for someone to sign off without engagement, I am not the right fit. If you are looking for someone who will take your development seriously and challenge you to grow, we should talk.

What Supervisees Say —

“I had the distinct pleasure of working under Amanda Jablon for two years. I can confidently say that I would not be the clinician I am today without her steadfast guidance, support, and encouragement. She fosters an environment as a supervisor that is warm, compassionate, and motivating due to her genuine interest in helping people in this profession. I will be forever grateful to have spent time under Amanda's supervision.”
Rachel Wakeford, LCSW

“Amanda's supervision was a game-changer for me. Her encouragement and insightful feedback gave me the confidence to trust my abilities and grow as a therapist. I'm truly grateful for her support.”
Ali Moses, LCSW, Therapist and Parent Coach

“Amanda was a great help to me when I first started my private practice several years ago. I remember feeling inspired by her out-of-the-box approach around marketing her practice to the community. Amanda’s guidance and knowledge helped me to feel more confident in my own process. As a business owner myself, I continue to feel inspired by Amanda’s ability to grow her business and approach creative endeavors with ease.”
